Rally Time!
How to Play: Interrupt the opponent speaker at the correct times during their sentences to rile up the crowd and disrupt your opponent. The player may interject at any time by simply Left Clicking anywhere on the screen. Don't allow your opponent to get their points across, and win over the crowd!

Rally Time! is a student team project developed for GSND 4000/6000 Game Mechanics & Systems Design. Taught by Chris Barney, Northeastern Spring 2026.
Rally Time! was developed as an exercise to practice developing an atomic mechanic, our team decided to explore timing as our mechanic. We developed a design pattern that describes how games may change their pacing in a satisfying way to break up slow gameplay. This can be done through implementing timing challenges that keep the player engaged during slow moments of gameplay. In our project, the use of a quick time event, during what would typically be a slow dialogue exchange, makes the gameplay more exciting and satisfying to engage with.
